Happy “Dol” to Emily and Parker!

My friend’s twin babies were are celebrating their Doljanchil and she asked if I could help her make some little plushies for an event called Taljabee. In this little game, each child’s future career is predicted(supposedly) according to whichever item they grab first.

And of course I HAD to customize them! So I drew up some cute icons and printed them on some fabric. Here’s what I threw together!

Team Bruno!- A Totoro Shower

A wonderful friend of mine let a few of us friends, (Sarah, Ivy and I) throw her a baby shower. Her husband and her picked the theme “Totoro” and let us go at it! We had such a blast planning, from the graphics, to invites, to decor and little succulent table settings! What a great time we had!

Our friend Sarah and her husband did most of the graphics and we all fed off each other’s creativity to create this whole set up.

We also went to the most amazing Succulent Nursery in Pasadena and got beautiful plants, picked up the vases and jars from DTLA and got some little Totoro figurines to go inside.

Home Sweet Home

We are officially home owners! It’s been about about 2 months since we’ve move into our little Condo, and prior to that, we had 6 weeks of remodeling done to this 1,000 sq ft. condo (boy was that stressful). Although ugly, I was allowed to decorate, remodel and style this little condo the way I wanted.

So…… we pretty much re-did the entire unit, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, knocked down a pilar, windows, doors and I learned OH SO MUCH about remodeling. I learned that it’s so fun and exciting when you first start, and then 2 weeks in, you are exhausted and everything looks like a mess and you just want it to be done NOW! Yes, the process took longer than they estimated(which apparently is the norm) and there was a lot of compromises in between. But at the end, I do have to say it’s starting to feel like HOME SWEET HOME

Here are some photos before we remodeled our little condo. It definitely needed a little TLC

Getting ready for Easter…

Since we don’t have kids of our own, I live vicariously through my sister’s two kids. Thought it would be fun to make them bunnies this year and found a cute little pattern on Etsy by mmmcrafts. I had a blast choosing matching colors and so much fun making them!

Hope the kids like them!

All dogs to go heaven….

Natasha

I just heard, one of the pups we fostered has  passed away. Although I’m totally heart broken, she was very blessed to have found a family who loved her “Oh So Very Much!” And I’m sure that meant the world to her! She was way too young…….but hopefully she’s in a better place.

Rest in peace little Natasha!

Happy Valentines 2014

TURTLE-Y awesome birthday

I’ve had a pen pal for over 2 decades! Yup, a real letter writing, snail mail, pencil to paper pen pal. We met when we were in middle school, probably seen each other face to face less than 5 times and have written over 200 letters. Recently, she moved down to Southern California and I’m happy to say, we still write! Haaa!!

Just a little about Jean: She loves turtles….as in LOVES!! Jean once told me there was a girl who visited and asked if she could count all the turtle items she could find in Jeans room. Jean said yes. So the girl started…and then, after…..102, 103, 104………can i stop now?! Let’s just say, my pen pal loves turtles!

Now that she’s within driving distance, I can make her cute turtle gifts and celebrate her birthday with her!Image

Whalies Baby Shower Prep

(sorry for taking SO LONG to finally get around to posting this)….and gosh…..where do I even begin with the party making. My friend Grace and I definitely put our heart and time into this shower and we made/designed everything from the very beginning, keeping in mind all the minor details.

We started off by designing custom whales and the invites, then picking colors.

Next we brainstormed ideas and pinterested things to do, and how to do them. One of my favorite decorations we made were these super cute tissue paper flowers. Grace found something online that looked so pretty and I was sure we could never make something that nice. But one night she texted me  these adorable flowers she made, and said it wasn’t hard at all! So we made tons of tissue paper flowers

From the whale graphics we designed for both boy and girl, we made little onsies . Printed and ironed them on!

Grace and I were also very into making sugar cookies after my friend Jenn taught us how to bake these amazing cookies and make our own frosting. So of course we commissioned Jenn to help us bake 100 cookies and we iced them with blue and pink whales! (of course we couldn’t find the perfect shaped whale cookie cutters anywhere, so we had to make our own!)

Finally, our gift to the babies was a hand made baby blanket! We designed our own fabric and got it custom printed online from a site called Spoonflower, and they sent it to us(it was a SUPER cool experience!)

A Whale of a Shower

One of my projects recently, was working with my talented friend Grace, in designing a baby shower  for our friend. My friend is having twins, and better yet, a boy and a girl! The only directions we got were “can we do a whale themed party?!”

Here’s what the shower looked like!

When we throw parties, we REALLY throw parties!!! There’s no clip art or downloading of images here…..we design our own parties from scratch!!

I’ll post some of the prep process soon!
