Keychain pouches

It’s been quite a while and I don’t know where the time goes. But over the 4th of July weekend, I found some time to sew up a little pouch which was quite fun!

Faced my biggest fear-sewing on a zipper, which wasn’t actually very hard!

Fabric masks

In light of this Covid 19 situation, I’ve been sewing up tons of face masks for friends and family since its required when you leave the house! They were so much fun to make, but the last few weeks and weekends I’ve spent all my spare time sewing! I think ive made over 50 masks in the last week and a half 🙂 I also kept all the little scraps to make matching hair ties

Yarn Bunny

Since the whole world is in quarantine mode….I thought it would be fun to make a rabbit for Easter using the yarn I had and my Pom Maker. I won’t like, I wanted to give up halfway through and it took some time. But after some chocolate, a few breaks and persistence. I think he turned out okay! I’m definitely going to try more animals in the future!

I’ve also been making LOTS of face masks for friends, since they are now required by LA county during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Baby Jesus’s

Happy birthday Jesus!!! I made a handful of ornaments during advent and had so much fun!

A “Green” Christmas Tree

I wanted to start a new tradition- Each year it makes me sad when I see people toss their Christmas trees, out on the sidewalks when they’re done.

I wanted to see if I could make a tree using recyled materials. I collected boxes! So many amazon/ups/shopping boxes in our recycle bins!!

So I made it happen. Thanksgiving weekend was spent, building a “Green” Christmas tree!

….this could be the start of a new tradition!

“Time for Tea” for the Bride to Be

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any of  projects, but this one was way too fun to pass!

I was lucky enough to help throw a tea party for an amazing friend’s bridal shower recently. I had so much fun making paper flowers, to embroidered napkins, to decorations and setting up.

The Bride to be had a Circuit machine which was SUPER helpful in cutting out all the little flower petals and leaves which saved me so much time. Process01

Each lady got a personalized tea towel with their names embroidered on it with gold thread!Process04Process03The paper flowers, slowly coming together….Process02Tassels in the makingProcess05

Setting up for the shower was a riot! Wish I had taken more photos, but it turned out pretty sweet. Prep01foodtablePrep02foodtable2groupPhoto

I have to say it was a pretty fun Tea Party and we’ll definitely have to find an excuse to do it again! Congrats Gracie!

The Yang’s 2016 holiday card.

This year for Christmas, we splurged on something fun! When Jennifer from Sofiandlili came to LA to do live drawings, I totally jumped on this opportunity and singed up for a session, bringing the husband and the dog!!

I have been following Jennifer for a long time now and what a treat it was to meet her in person!!! She was super nice and so, so talented!! I took the little portrait she drew,  embelished it, and used it for our Christmas card!

Turtle-ie awesome baby shower

We threw my turtle loving friend a turtle themed baby shower. Turtle cookies, turtle decor, turtle bread and turtle gifts!!! Super fun!

And of course I made the baby her own quilt with turtles on the back side!

Holiday Terrariums

This Holiday I combined my day job as a Toy Designer with one of my deep passions of terrariums!! For Christmas, I am using some toys I have designed and making terrariums out of them!!
